Yogesh Sablawat owned Variety Electronics, a small consumer electronics store. Variety Electronics was the only source of income for the Sablawat’s.

In March 2013, Yogesh ordered electronics worth over Rs 13 lakhs from his regular supplier, All-Time Goods.

To Yogesh’s surprise products worth Rupees ten lakhs were faulty, and customers returned them. He informed this to Sakett Mishra, the owner of All-Time Goods. To his shock and dismay, Sakett Mishra refused to refund the amount or replace the damaged goods.

Yogesh hired a lawyer and sued All-Time Goods in court. However, even though the court awarded him Rupees 30 lakhs as compensation and damages, it took seven years to pass judgment. The time taken by the court, coupled with the additional legal expenses, ended up bankrupting Yogesh.

Yogesh and All-Time Goods could have resolved their dispute in less than six months by using an online justice platform and at a fraction of the cost. Yogesh would have received his money in a few months, and would still be running his business today.
